I have been working in the IT industry since 1983 but I have always been interested in computers and electronics. My first job was a trainee telecommunications engineer in 1973 and from there I have had a number of computer engineering jobs since.
I eventually set up my own computer consultancy company in 1996 with a client list varying from small companies and charities to large corporations, local government and banks. Many of the contracts involved testing and evaluating software or designing bespoke systems.
When I set up Sytec Computers Ltd only around 10% of my work involved the Internet, this has grown and by 2004 most of my income now comes from my online businesses. My wife, Sandie, runs our overseas property business which generates 100% of its clients from the Internet.
Sytec provides web design and Internet marketing services to many companies in Kent and around the UK.
